UC DAVIS Bowling Team

UNLIMITED bowling, billiards and video games!

This Friday, November 13th from 6 pm-12 midnight at the MU Games Area on the UC Davis campus. There will be two sessions, one from 6-9 pm, and one from 9 pm-12 midnight. The price is $8 per session, or $15 for both. You can also buy pre-sale tickets in the quad Friday from 12-2 pm, or at the front desk of the bowling alley any time. The team consist of two Men's Teams and one Women's Team.  It is entirely funded by the players through fundraising at the MU Games Area Bowling Center, league, and several tournaments. Tryouts for the 2009/2010 season just ended Oct 4 with the final rosters listed above. (Player Roster Tab) With 8-10 tournaments ahead of us, we are looking forward to going to the USBC (United States Bowling Congress) Intercollegiate Team Championships in El Paso, Texas on April 14-17, 2010. We first have to go to the West Coast Sectional Qualifier in Las Vegas on March 13-14, 2010. The top four teams out of the sixteen in the Section will go to the Championships in Texas. The same goes for the Women at the same time and locations. The Intercollegiate Team Championships competition is conducted using the Baker format, which features five bowlers combining their efforts to bowl one team game. The lead-off bowler on each team bowls frames one and six. The second bowler bowls frames two and seven, and so on down the line. The Championship Round, which will be a best-of-three match that is taped for television, will air nationally on ESPN2 on May 2, 2010. Jerry Nunes is the Program Director for both teams with 8-year Coach Nick Morgan, second year Coach Les Warner, and first year Coach Mike Galli. All four are USBC Certified and/or PBA Members. With several new bowlers this year, we are looking forward to an exciting season.
